Welcome to Korumburra Primary Website
Korumburra Primary School has proudly served our local community for over 100 years.
We pride ourselves on the extra experiences we offer. These currently include instrumental music, performing arts, choir, an annual art show and a variety of clubs and sporting programs.
KPS also provides a caring and supportive environment through
our student welfare program, learning assistance program (LAP),
our After
School Care program and our very successful Active After
School Care program, which offers different activities each term.
We are fortunate to have more than 100 volunteers
regularly supporting our school. We value parents and community members
as an essential part of the education partnership between the students
and our dedicated staff.
Our school has benefited from the many building improvements that have been made over recent years, including roofing over our central quadrangle and the construction of a fantastic new six classroom learning neighbourhood - funded through the Building the Education Revolution (BER) program. Our school motto is: Challenge and Achieve.
The motto expresses our school's emphasis on having a go, striving for success and celebrating our accomplishments. We encourage all students to build the skills and self belief that will allow them to achieve their goals.

Our Values
At KPS we aim to develop the whole child by instilling the knowledge and skills needed to meet the challenge of learning while valuing the diversity of individuals. Our Strategic Plan affirms the school's commitment to the following values:
Learning - we value and foster the knowledge, skills and
strategies for learning
Respect - for ourselves, each other and our environment
Responsibility - acceptance of, and taking responsibility for, our own
actions
Nuturing - we provide for the needs of students and others within the
school community
Community - we build positive links between the members within the
school community and the wider community
Teachers and students believe they work in a safe, orderly and
nurturing environment where teaching and learning is at the centre of
all that we do.

School Chaplain & Pastoral Care
As part of our school's Pastoral Care Program we are fortunate to have the services of a School Chaplain.
Matt Stear is the School Chaplain; he is employed two days a week and serves as an extension of the schools desire for Pastoral care to be available to the students and their families as well as the teaching staff.

Friday’s Assembly focuses on Performances and Sports
Celebration, You Can Do It Awards, Artist of the Week awards
and the Citizenship Competition. Both assemblies are
presented under the direction of the Student Leadership Team.
